“Gone to Pot” Gardener’s Workbench

preview location: 2282 Madison Avenue | Howard Hall

artist statement
Gone to Pot is a contrived excuse to get out of the house and do… something. The bench has been cobbled together about as carefully as we craft excuses, so a sense of harmony with daily life is achieved. This adaptive reuse features rough and tough detailing and the unaltered use of original surfaces that add to its funky nature and reflect the timeworn door’s years of duty. As a potter’s bench, it begins a second life with a sense of both utility and thoughtful design. This fun and functional achievement in conversion is approx. 32”w x 20”d x 60”h, with oversize casters that allow the unit to roll with its user almost anywhere. Gone to Pot comes with potting soil and tools to help even the novice gardener get started.
