The paint was stripped away to reveal a beautifully patinaed heart pine core. The inspiration for the project came from a combination of wanting to maintain the raised panels intact with their unique grain pattern and wanting to create a functional piece of furniture. The versatility of the piece will allow the buyer to configure this artful treasure to an assortment of uses for daily living. This piece would make a wonderful hall table, a classic bookcase, an elegant wine bar, or a handy serving buffet. artist bio Kevin Burkeen is a professional woodworker, located in Collierville. He is employed by Kerns-Wilchek, an architectural millwork and interior specialties company. Kevin's other creations have included cabinetry, furniture, a mahogany sailboat, ornate boxes, and other handcrafted artisan pieces.
