Conversation Coffee Tables

artist statement
As I was creating these tables I had a constant wonder of where this door stood and the many lives that past though it. I created these tables with simplistic thoughts of what a this door represents, a sort of rebirth. What opportunities & surprises come and go throughout our lives. I imagined these tables in someone’s living room and the conversations that will be held around them. Will the thoughts of humanity that I had be in the thoughts of others when they talk about these doors? My intention is the reflection of those opportunities in life, because of an opened door, that occurs when relaxing on a favorite chair behind these tables.

artist bio
My hometown is Jackson, MS, where I own a small Italian restaurant named Cerami’s. I graduated from Belhaven College in business but my real passion is the arts. I have always enjoyed creating. My mother, Emma Connolly, who also created a door, moved to Memphis two years ago and I travel back and forth frequently to visit. I plan on attending University of Memphis for a graduate degree in Fine Arts. My ultimate goal is to be able teach terminally ill and underprivileged children ways to express themselves through art.
