artist statement
Russell added his own touches with the addition of the steel top and the “peeping” Jack Nicholson face. Their inspiration for the color scheme, pattern, and design was the movie “The Shining.” They wanted have a project to work on together over the summer. In turn they created a sculptural piece that was fun and had a bright pop of color made entirely of reclaimed materials. This piece has been referred to as the “the rocket ship table.”
