Local Leaders BRING IT Home to Memphis

New Luncheon Date: February 25, 2021

(YES, February. I was multitasking when I built the email.)
As we have evaluated the 2021 Program of Work, we see at least 4 calendar conflicts with the third Thursday of each month. We'll be bringing you a new luncheon brand but will work to keep it predictably on the 4th Thursday. Keep an eye on the >> AIA Memphis Calendar of Events << for updates.

The 2021 AIA National Grassroots experience, "Bring It Home," virtually launched architects onto Capital Hill to advocate for Green Building Infrastructure and reuse of buildings with Tennessee's federal legislators. Hear the content of our pitch as we work to push the message out into the West Tennessee community.

Guest panelists include (in order as pictured above):

  • Ashley Cates, Executive Director, AIA Tennessee
  • Ferran Espin, AIA, President Elect, AIA Memphis
  • Jeanne Myers, AIA, Treasurer, AIA Tennessee
  • Valentina Shands-Puppione, AIA, Vice-President, AIA Tennessee
  • Amber Lombardo, Executive Director, AIA Memphis

We will also spend a little time talking about the 2021 Program of Work reimagined by your brilliant board at our retreat at the end of January as well as discuss updates about folio/fazio/fusion. With Design and Honor Awards right around the corner, we are ramping up for a wonderful year. Ashley Cates joins us from AIA Tennessee to tell you all about Speak Up!, an advocacy and action program scheduled in March.

NEW BRAND COMING SOON
As mentioned above, we've discovered a number of date conflicts with the third Thursday of each month this year. In order to allow flexibility for the date, AIA Memphis is working to rebrand Third Thursdays. Have a clever name idea?
Send it over! If the committee loves it, we'll get a swag bag over to you for your effort! (When you next bump into a board member, harass them a little because I received a zoom call full of bovine stares when I asked for ideas! They need a little excitement to go with all of this snow.)
