This tribute film was commissioned by LRK and presented at his retirement party from the firm. Enjoy getting to know Rob a little better and understanding his contributions to Memphis and the profession.

AIA Memphis served the above specialty cocktail, the Tazmanian Manhattan, to honor Rob's creative spirit.

2020 Design Awards Jury

Based in San Antonio, Texas, the jurors deliberated over 50+ entries, considering a wide range of criteria for selection.

Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, San Antonio became the first chartered civil settlement in Texas in 1731. The area was still part of the Spanish Empire and later of the Mexican Republic. Local architecture reflects Texas' Spanish and Mexican roots with French influence. Contemporary architecture thrives due to rapid economic growth since the mid twentieth century.

Special thanks to Torrey Carlton, Hon. AIA, Executive Director of AIA San Antonio for her assistance procuring jurors and for their generous offer of space (and refreshments!) to host our discussion.

Amy LaVere

& Will Sexton

There’s something uniquely fun about Amy LaVere, even when she’s breaking your heart. She is well known among songwriters and critics alike. NPR’s Robert Siegel says she “specializes in lyrics that are more barbed than her sweet soprano prepares you for.” Her growing catalogue of material and steady critical acclaim suggest a first-tier presence on the Americana and indie-folk/punk circuits. Her latest album Painting Blue emerged in August on Nine Mile Records (Glorietta, David Wax Museum, Carson McHone, Patrick Sweany, Greyhounds). > Take a look & listen
